The Ellington Financial Team

Mr. Shilleh joined Ellington in 2023 as our Associate General Counsel and as our Secretary. Mr. Shilleh is also an Associate General Counsel of our manager, Ellington Financial Management LLC, as well as Ellington Management Group, L.L.C. He also serves as Secretary and Associate General Counsel for Ellington Residential Mortgage REIT. Mr. Shilleh is responsible for advising on securities law matters, public company reporting, corporate governance, and other corporate law matters. Prior to joining Ellington, Mr. Shilleh was an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he focused on capital markets transactions, advising public companies, corporate governance matters, capital markets transactions and public company reporting from March 2021 to March 2023. From October 2017 to March 2021, Mr. Shilleh was an Associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, where he focused on structured products transactions in the residential mortgage space, including whole loan sales, servicing transfers, repurchase and other warehouse facilities, and term securitizations for newly originated, seasoned and nonperforming loans. Mr. Shilleh has a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A in Political Science from SUNY Purchase.
